After the hoopla....

As I was sitting in my office, I glanced out the door into the rest of the house.  I love this time of year…the decorations, the lights, the tasty treats, the pretty gifts under the tree ….visually, Christmas is such a treat!

As I glanced under our tree from my office, I kept thinking something was missing.  I realized that the reason it looked different was because some of the presents that were under the tree were gone.  We’d been to school Christmas parties and other parties with friends and some of the gifts that were sitting prettily under my tree have already been given.

That got me thinking…the “season” of Christmas is so temporal…

In about 7 days all the gifts will be gone, my tree will dry up, the cookies will be thrown away with a vow to not make any more until I lose 10 lbs, the decorations will be taken down and Christmas 2011 will be nothing but sweet memories and aforementioned extra pounds...smile

I sat there in my office feeling very blessed that Christmas means more to me than just the literal celebration of Christmas…though I love the “season,” the Christmas I celebrate steps into January with me and walks me right through the year.  My Christmas continues after the hoopla…

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Isaiah 30:21

My Christmas is Christ and He never leaves me.

And He has walked with us…God has blessed us so these past few months.

We had the privilege of ministering at the Genesee County Jail twice since I last wrote.   We were so blessed to have our Pastor, Rick Merling and our dear friend, Cindy Bolf come with us to share with the inmates.  They were very well received and we felt God’s Spirit move over the hearts of these dear men and women.   We were also blessed to have Polly, Michele and Herb playing with us for both of these visits.  Playing with these three is always a joy!  But most of all, it was a blessing and a privilege to go in and share with these inmates that God knows them and is not done with them yet.  It was a powerful and beautiful time!  I always feel such overwhelming love as I look into the eyes of the these dear people.

We also had the joy of sharing in the 3/330th INF. REG. US ARMY DRILL SERGEANTS Family Christmas Party.  What a joy to be a part of this great event.  Being able to play for these amazing men and women was a very small way we could say thank you for all that they give for this country!

We are so looking forward to playing our Christmas Eve service at Christ Vineyard.  If you are in Owosso on Christmas Eve and are looking for a place to celebrate our Savior’s birth – come on over!  It’s at 8pm!

We are also looking forward to playing at Pathway Church for New Year’s Eve.   I can’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year than by talking and singing about the One who makes the new year possible!  Smile.

As we continue to book for the 2012 year, please pray that God will open doors for us to serve Him even more through bookings and whatever other avenues He sees fit to send us.

As we head into this new year, continue to pray that...

#1God will give us victory as we follow Him – pray that we will keep our eyes fixed on the prize and that nothing will steer us off the course God has for us…that we will be unified in the Lord’s calling.  That we will make prayerful and Godly decisions about the direction of BHI Ministries and not miss ONE thing that God has planned for us;

#2we will let God make us the artists that He has called us to be - without getting in His way or trying to do HIS job;

#3 God will use the CD and our music for HIS glory;

#4we will have success with booking and that our calendar will be filled up (feel free to contact her with any contacts you may have);

#5for our concerts (those booked and those yet to be booked);

#6we will stay faithful and holy in all that we are called to do, keeping God's priorities in proper order;

#7we will be wise and Godly parents as we "train up our children in the way they should go"; and most importantly;

#8we will stay close to the Lord as we seek His guidance every step of the way on this remarkable journey.

Blessings always!!!

I love you all!
